Viviana Cordero is co-founder of Huasipichanga. Her work is focused on planning cities hand in hand with children. She is a lawyer and urban planning specialist driven by the idea of achieving intergenerational justice. Currently, she is based in the Netherlands where she does her PhD. in child-friendly cities at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen. Her academic experience includes being a lecturer of Sustainable Urban Development in the Urban Planning Master Programme at the Catholic University of Quito and a guest lecturer on several universities worldwide.
She is also a leader and member of several networks like PlacemakingX, Placemaking Europe Kids, Trust in Play European School of Urban Game Design, and environmental activists collectives in Ecuador. She is been part of various conferences and workshops worldwide including TEDx speaker.
Viviana has been the project manager of the two editions of the Real Play City Challenge, and currently she has the role of Director in the Safe and Sound Cities implementation projects led by Huasipichanga in Ecuador.
